Scenario MML Updates (SDL)
by Orbital Arm Team

(52Kb in .ZIP format)

An update of the MMLs (originally done by Craig Caroon) for various big scenarios that use MML scripts for custom Shapes and Textures. This allows these scenarios to work with the latest builds of Aleph One currently being released for Windows (SDL). Now supports M2 for Windows. Other scenarios should work when properly extracted by Aladdin Expander. "Save Macintosh files in MacBinary format" must be enabled in Aladdin Expander's Cross-Platform tab under "Preferences" to expand the scenario (then just drop the ".bin" file extension from the Map and Physics files before playing).

WARNING - Do NOT install this into any scenario whose distribution is for Aleph One.  Use only for Infinity versions.

M1A1 for SDL v1.2 (Marathon)
by Raul Bonilla

(37.8MB in .ZIP format)
Description from The Archives -

The official SDL version of the M1A1 scenario for all SDL flavors of Aleph One - a port of the original Marathon to Aleph One. This contains all 27 original solo levels, all 10 original net levels, 2 bonus solo levels, and the 16 original music tracks (MP3 format). It fixes the Looker crash that plagued earlier versions of A1 SDL. In response to some user problems with the existing version of M1A1 for SDL, Raul Bonilla released this. Music is already included. The newly reworked alternative mp3 tracks (47.4 mb) from Chibi-Usa are compatible with this scenario.
This version maintains compatibility with the Mac version.

The 3rd-party Maps for M1A1 SDL can be grabbed here.

M1A1-SE v1.6 (Special Edition)
by Raul Bonilla and Randall J. Currie

It now has sixteen 8-bit and sixteen 16-bit Chapter screens (the seven original screens are only available in 8-bit mode), an additional Moonscape texture, and several extra monster types. Grab the Mac OS version here (20.5MB). If you want the Special Edition M1A1 music, you must download the M1A1-SE Ogg Vorbis tracks (65.2MB in Zip format). Stuffit versions of the M1A1-SE MP3 tracks and the old M1A1 QuickTime Tracks are available at FileBall. WARNING - This version does NOT maintain compatibility with the Mac version like the official SDL release.

Tempus Irae Special Edition (Aleph One)
by The Nardo Group

(96.8MB in .ZIP format)
Description from the Nardo Team web site -

Aside from being both Mac and PC compatible, this new release has received a major artistic restoration in the process. Every texture has been recreated - mostly done with Cinema 4D - in hi res splendor. To further enhance the beauty of the game, an additional download is available to add breathtaking hi res landscapes. We couldn't stop there, so all additional Maps created by the members of Nardo, 3rd party Tempus Irae maps, as well as those entered into the Tempus Irae Mapmaking Contest have been converted for use in Aleph One. To insure the package was complete, we converted the original game Read Me files to .pdf's, and have provided a link to the Tempus Irae alternate Music file.

Shots Fired for M2/Infinity/TI
by The Nardo Group

(3118Kb in .ZIP format)

Description from the Nardo Team web site -

Shots Fired replaces graphics for the following items: rocket and grenade contrails, flamethrower, juggnaut rocket trails, S'pht projectiles, Pfhor projectiles, Enforcer projectiles, and both types of fusion gun projectiles. The replaced graphics are sharper, smoother, brighter, and blend more correctly on screen than the pixelated sprites included in the basic game graphics. Great care was taken to make the replacements graphically similar in shape, color and style to the originals. Needless to say, this modification requires you to be running Aleph One in OpenGL mode. This modification is compatible with Marathon 2, Marathon Infinity, and Tempus Irae.

Trojan M2 for Aleph One
by Hamish Sanderson

(9775Kb in .ZIP format)
Description from The Archives -

When people talk of "Total Conversions" of the Marathon universe, Trojan is one of the names that should come up first. Trojan is a complete replacement for the Marathon package. Think of it as an action game that happens to use the Marathon engine. The artwork is superb, the new weapons are awesome, the baddies are frightening... and the full package is a whole new animal. Twenty-five levels of pulse-pounding excitement... don't pass it up.

This package includes a resource for in-game fog effects (some items and scenery do not display correctly under Aleph One).  No changes were made to the original file distribution.  To hear the Trojan M2 music in-game, download this Ogg Vorbis distribution (114.5MB).  WARNING - You must have an original Windows 95 version of Marathon 2: Durandal to install this package (a clean copy of the executable and a valid serial code are required).

You can also enjoy the music separately with these Trojan MP3 files (100.9MB).  They are converted from their original MIDIs using WinAmp's DiskWrite plugin and a Creative SoundBlaster AWE32.  The MP3 quality is a testament to the unmatched MIDI reproduction capabilities of this venerable sound card.
